Commercial Insurance Broker
Upon leaving the
University of New Brunswick in 1987 Peter started his insurance
career as an Independent Insurance Adjuster with Morden & Helwig
(now known as Cunningham Lindsay) in Halifax and was later moved to
St. Stephen, N.B. as Branch Manager where he stayed for the next 4
years. Peter moved to the Broker side of the insurance
business in 1992 when he came to Mitchell McConnell as a Commercial
Broker and also managed our Rothesay Branch for a period of time.
In 1996 he left to run his own brokerage and returned to the
Mitchell McConnell in 2006. Peter works with businesses and
organizations throughout the region in both an insurance and risk
management capacity. He currently holds a CIP (Chartered Insurance
Professional), a CRM (Canadian Risk Management) designations and is
one of only a handful of people in the province with a CPIB
(Canadian Professional Insurance Broker) designation. He is a Past
President of the Insurance Institute of New Brunswick and was also
involved as a Course Instructor and a Governor for the Insurance
Institute of Canada.
Peter is married with 2 children and enjoys spending his spare time
in outdoor activities snowboarding, kayaking, camping, running as
well as building Kayaks. He also volunteers with the Kennebecasis
Valley Basketball Association as a director and coach, as an officer
with the Fundy Food Festival, and as a PALS volunteer at Glen Falls
School.
