Christopher L. Bourque, CRM, CAIB
President
After
University in 1990 , Chris became a career life agent with Canada
Life. Shortly thereafter he made two "hops", one to large
multinational, and another to Mitchell McConnell in 1992, where he has
worked to this day.
Initially he started as a general sales agent, selling commercial
insurance , personal insurance, and life and investment products. As
Mitchell McConnell's "group" division, Foremost Insurance, began
rapid expansion, his bilingual capabilities were drafted into
service in that department. Over the next 4 years, he concentrated
his studies on systems driven efficiencies and began working towards
his MCSE certification, with some specialties in call-center
technologies. During this time, he also obtained both his C.A.I.B.
Designation, and the rare CRM designation.
Chris was promoted to sales manager of Foremost Insurance in 1995,
and to General Manager of both divisions in 1999. In 2004, he along
with his business partner acquired the organization from the former
shareholders, and he now sits as president.
His lines of specialty are Aquaculture/Mericulture, and also
commercial and industrial risks with unconventional exposures.
Chris is one of the very few "fully licensed" (all lines) insurance
brokers in Canada. He has developed one of the first nationally
recognized Risk Management Programs designed specifically for the
not-for-profit sector, and is viewed as a global specialist in
Mericulture/Aquaculture Risk Management.
When not with his wife and son, Chris spends many hours with various
community organizations such as the Multiple Sclerosis Society of
Canada, the Business Community Anti-poverty Initiative, and
Rotary International.
